Shell Game is just another name for Three-card Monte and V.I. Warshawski is normally too streetwise to get involved in a mug’s game. However, when her oldest friend’s nephew is framed for the murder of a man found dead in a forest near Chicago and her own niece has vanished without a trace, V.I. has to play by someone else’s rules. Her investigations drag her into the world of stolen antiquities, where she finds herself running afoul of her ex-husband, Russian mobsters in league with a Chicago billionaire, and even US immigration authorities. As the net draws tighter around her, V.I. turns over card after card in a desperate search for her missing niece.
